Ken Herd, the firm’s Principal, has over 30 years of legal experience and has built his reputation and the practice around a strong client-focus and by forming close business relationships with his clients.
The firm’s clients range from businesses both, large and small, local and international, families, individuals and investors in the New South Wales property market.
We offer clients practical, no nonsense reliable advise provided confidentially and with all the wisdom that comes with our level of experience.
Ken was admitted as a Solicitor in 1981 and completed the combined degree of Arts and Law at the University of Sydney in 1976 and an Arts Degree in English literature and language, psychology and government.
He has worked as a lawyer for a commercial law firm in London and subsequently for different law firms in and around Sydney.
Located in the firm’s present location for over 10 years Ken has settled on the areas of law that he wants to focus on for the remainder of his career, in the knowledge that his clients are getting sensible advice.
Ken estimates that he has handled many thousands of property matters over the years of varying sizes and complexities ranging from ordinary house sales, to easements, rights of way, subdivisions and land consolidations.
It is the same for Wills, Ken has, over the years, literally drafted thousands of wills. He currently has well over a thousand stored in safe custody in his practice, a free service he offers his clients.
Likewise his experience in conducting deceased estate matters is just as extensive and with this area of law comes disputed estates for people validly disputing a Will or defending a claim.
Ken is a founding member and treasurer of the Nepal Eye Program which subsequently developed into and became the Fred Hollows Foundation. Currently Ken remains a voting member of Fred Hollows Foundation.
Because of the close proximity of the firm and of Ken’s expertise, Ken is often asked to attend St Vincent’s Hospital to assist someone in making their last Will ahead of a serious medical crisis.
